Description:

The simple concept of scroll in scroll compressor was first invented in 1905. The scroll is an involute spiral, which is meshed with the matching scroll as shown in the figure above, forming a series of gradually expanding spaces between the two components. When compressed, one scroll remains stationary (fixed scroll) while the other (rotating scroll) is allowed to make planetary motion (but not rotate) around the first disk. When the motion occurs, the space between the two disks is slowly pushed to the center of the two vortex disks, and the volume is also reduced.
