Carel EVD0000E50 Universal Electronic Expansion Valve Driver

The EVD Evolution series driver features a removable graphic LCD display with multi-language support, online parameter help, selectable SI or imperial units, and on-screen connection diagrams. Commissioning uses an assisted wizard requiring only four initial parameter selections-refrigerant, valve mode, pressure probe type, and application type (such as chillers or display cases). When controlling Carel valves, setup drops to just three parameters. The interface supports password-protected user access levels, parameter copying between EVD devices via display, and status LEDs for primary operational metrics.

Designed for superheat control, this driver incorporates protective routines for high pressure, low pressure, and low superheat conditions. It works with low-power ratiometric pressure transducers with 4 to 20 mA output, which can be shared across multiple drivers to reduce sensor count and wiring complexity. Additional hardware features include backup probe integration and a dedicated second digital input for defrost cycle management.

When paired with ExV series electronic expansion valves, the driver forms an integrated control system. This setup optimizes evaporator operation across commercial and industrial refrigeration installations, maintaining precise refrigerant flow control to deliver high energy savings.
