Common Problems And Failures Of Cold Storage Equipment

1. Regularly check and confirm that the power supply voltage meets the requirements. The voltage should be 380V ± 10% (three-phase, four-wire). When the cold storage equipment is not in use for an extended period, disconnect the main power supply to the cold storage and ensure that the refrigeration unit is free from moisture, dust, and other contaminants.
2. The condenser on the refrigeration unit is easily contaminated and should be cleaned regularly as needed to maintain good heat transfer. Good heat dissipation ensures good refrigeration. Avoid any debris around the refrigeration unit.
3. Electrical equipment in the cold storage should be protected from moisture to prevent leakage and electric shock.
4. The hinges, handles, and locks of the cold storage door should be lubricated regularly as needed.
5. Maintenance of electrical equipment in the cold storage should be performed by an electrician or someone knowledgeable about electrical procedures. All maintenance must be performed with the power disconnected to ensure safety.
6. Avoid vibration during operation of the refrigeration unit. Vibration not only increases mechanical wear but can also loosen or break the connecting pipes on the unit. If any unusual noise is detected during operation, the machine should be stopped and inspected. Restart the machine after correcting the problem. The protection functions of the refrigeration compressor unit are pre-set and do not require adjustment.
7. Regularly check the connections and valves of the refrigeration unit for tightness and refrigerant leaks (oil stains will typically appear where leaks occur). The most practical method for leak detection is to use a sponge or soft cloth dampened with detergent, lather it, and evenly apply it to the area to be detected. Observe for several minutes. If there is a leak, bubbles will appear. Mark the leaking area and then tighten or gas weld it (repair and maintenance should be performed by professional refrigeration personnel).

8. The top of the cold storage room (ceiling) should be clear of debris, as this will cause deformation and affect insulation performance. Ensure that all passages around the cold storage room are unobstructed. Proper heat dissipation ensures optimal refrigeration. The cold storage area should be dry, clean, free of flammable or explosive materials, and free of any safety hazards. Do not stack items in front of the evaporator (allow sufficient space) to avoid affecting cooling performance.
9. Excessive humidity, long defrost intervals, and improper temperature settings can all lead to a thick layer of frost on the evaporator and prevent the temperature from dropping. In these cases, defrost should be performed. Observe the situation promptly and stop defrosting once the frost disappears. Wait a moment before restarting the equipment.
10. Cold storage parameters such as internal temperature and temperature differential should be set according to the actual conditions of the cold storage and should not be arbitrarily changed. Cold storage is customized to user requirements at the factory. Understanding the cold storage's technical specifications is crucial before setting the controller parameters.
11. Frequent compressor starts should be avoided. Each downtime interval should be at least 6 minutes. If the oil level in the compressor sight glass drops or becomes dirty, refill or replace it promptly. Do not refill with the wrong brand of refrigerant oil or one that has been exposed to air for a long time and contains excessive water. Failure to do so can cause problems such as high-temperature carbonization, low-temperature wax precipitation, motor insulation damage, and oil return problems. Regularly monitor temperature changes on the compressor casing, body, and cylinder head to determine whether the compressor is operating properly.
12. Regularly check the power supply voltage (three-phase, four-wire) for normal operation and the main power switch for proper protection.
