The Abnormal Sound Of Compressor

Mar 12, 2020

There are the following three failure phenomena when the  compressor emits abnormal noise:

1. Metal impact sound;

2. Even knocking sound;

3. Friction and howling.

cause of issue:

1. The connecting rod shoe is seriously worn, the connecting rod bolt is loose, the connecting rod bushing is seriously worn, the main shaft is seriously worn or damaged, and the impact sound is produced;

2. The belt is too loose, and the grooves of the active and passive belts do not match, causing slipping and howling;

3. The oil is not supplied immediately after the air compressor runs, and the metal dry friction produces howling;

4. Loose fixing bolts;

5. The tightening gear nut is loose, causing excessive backlash and knocking sound.

Fault diagnosis and elimination methods:

1. Check whether the connecting rod bushing, connecting rod bushing and main bearing bush are worn, pulled or burned, whether the connecting rod bolts are loose, and check whether the main oil passage of the air compressor is unblocked; it is recommended to replace the seriously worn or damaged bushes and bushes Sleeve, main bearing, tighten connecting rod bolts; pay attention to main bearing when reassembling;

2. Check whether the grooves of the active and passive pulleys are consistent. If they are inconsistent, they need to be replaced, and adjust the belt tightness;

3. Check the oil inlet pressure of the lubricating oil and whether the oil pipeline is damaged or blocked. If the pressure is insufficient, immediately adjust, clean and replace the failed pipeline; check the oil quality and impurity content of the lubricating oil. Compare with the use standard. ; Check if the air compressor supplies oil, if there is no oil supply, it should stand

Conduct a comprehensive inspection;

4. Check whether the fixing bolt of the air compressor is loose and tighten it;

5. If the main unit is faulty, use a screwdriver to push it to the main unit and use your ears to listen for noise
