What To Pay Attention To When Installing Screw Air Compressor

Matters needing attention in air piping of air compressor system

1) For the installation of the piping of the screw-type air compressor, a ball valve should be installed at the end of the main pipe to facilitate condensation and discharge.

2) The installation of pipelines for screw air compressors should minimize the use of elbows and various valves to reduce pressure loss.

3) When piping in the main pipeline, the pipeline must have an inclination of 1 ° to 2 ° to facilitate the discharge of condensate in the pipeline. The pressure drop of the piping pipeline should not exceed 5% of the set pressure of the compressor, so it is better to use a larger diameter when piping.

4) The branch line must be connected from the top of the main line to prevent the condensation water in the main line from flowing into the working machine. The compressor air outlet line should preferably have a check valve.

5) For compressed air with a system pressure below 1.5 MPa, the flow velocity in its delivery pipe must be below 15 m / sec to avoid excessive pressure drop.

6) The main pipeline of air compressor piping installation should not be arbitrarily reduced. If you must reduce or enlarge the pipeline, you must use a reducer, otherwise there will be mixed flow at the joint, resulting in large pressure loss and affecting the use of the pipeline. life.

7) If there are buffer purification facilities such as air storage tank and dryer after the compressor, the ideal piping should be compressor + gas-water separator + air storage tank + front filter + dryer + rear filter + fine filter. In this way, the air storage tank can filter out part of the condensed water, and the air storage tank also has the function of reducing the temperature of the compressed air. Can reduce the load of the dryer or filter.

8) If the air consumption of the system is large and the time is short, the instantaneous air consumption is large, it is advisable to install an air storage tank as a buffer (the capacity should be greater than or equal to 20% of the maximum instantaneous air volume), which can reduce compression The frequency of frequent loading and unloading of the unit, reducing the number of control element actions, has a great benefit in maintaining the reliability of the compressor operation. In general, a gas storage tank with a capacity of 20% of the displacement can be selected.
